In a recent announcement, Instagram stated that they will no longer be supporting NFTs (digital collectibles). It’s been about a year since Instagram first revealed it will allow NFTs. Although the motivation for this change is unclear. But here is how Instagram’s NFT changes will play out:
Instagram will no longer allow users to create new digital collectible posts, and posts that can only be viewed in the digital collectible part of their profile will be moved to the archive section.
Additionally, third-party digital wallets will no longer be connected to or affiliated with Instagram, and users will not be able to view or download any information linked to their collection. Data will be kept and then deleted in order to comply with Instagram’s Privacy Policy and Terms of Use.
